All Elevation Medical Offices will be OPEN as of May 4th, 2020

To our dearest patients,

During the past six weeks, Elevation Medical was privileged to have the opportunity to continue limited operations to meet your needs.  Our entire team has worked tirelessly throughout the quarantine period to continue to serve our patients as best as possible in light of state-enforced stay at home orders.

As of this week, we are excited to announce that all Elevation Medical Weight Loss Offices will begin the process of re-opening from May 4th, 2020 onward. All OPEN locations will limit the number of persons allowed inside for the time being.  We are still practicing social distancing as well as taking precautions to keep both patients and staff healthy, and we kindly thank you for your patience!

Rest assured, we are taking all precautions necessary to keep our patients and employees safe and healthy while continuing to provide exceptional patient care.  We eagerly anticipate seeing your wonderful faces in person again.  What a terrific way to start this beautiful month of May!  We are still here, still healthy, and more committed than ever to help you get back on track for your goals.

COVID 19

2020-04-05

To our valued patients, in light of the spread of COVID-19, we will be taking measures to provide medical services for as long as we can while minimizing exposure risk to you and our staff.

While our medical weight loss offices are closed to the public, we are providing services and answering medical concerns via video, telephone, or electronic communication, as allowed by applicable laws.  We are currently accepting new patients in West Virginia and Pennsylvania by telehealth.

Keep an eye on our main page website for updates regarding our accessibility.

If you or anyone with whom you have had recent contact are showing any signs of sickness, please reach out to us via telephone or email so that we can find a way to assist you while maintaining responsible “social distancing”. We are in this together, and we will continue to do everything we can to help you keep sight of your weight loss goals. Stay Healthy.

A Year of Caring…

Elevation cares is something we established last year.

The goal of our first year was to give two local, non-profit charitable causes.  We pledged that if our patients would leave a review on our social networks, or Google, we would donate $3 per feedback.  Our patients came through for us.  We were able to contribute to Weirton’s “Shop with a Cop” and the Brooke County Animal Shelter last year.

Our second year was not a disappointment.  This year we extended our program, and donations were made to the following four charities. We couldn’t be more proud.

WEIRTON COMMUNITY BREAD BASKET

The Community Bread Basket provides utility assistance, rent assistance, Food Pantry, Gabriel Room, Information Referral to the needy of Brooke and Hancock Counties in West Virginia. They are a wonderful charity that provides food to many families in the area.

Merlin’s Safe Haven Cat Rescue

Merlin’s Safe Haven Cat Rescue has been established to provide for the rescue, care, and placement of cats that have been abandoned, neglected, abused or which cannot be kept by their previous owner(s). Cats adopted through Merlin’s Safe Haven Cat Rescue are placed exclusively as indoor family pets. All cats are altered and vaccinated prior to adoption. All cats are currently kept in foster homes; therefore, Merlin’s Safe Haven Cat Rescue feels more knowledgeable about the cat and can help a prospective adopting family make the best decision adding a new family member for themselves as well as the cat.

Make a Wish/ PA and WV

The Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia chapter has grown steadily with the help of caring people who volunteer their time and support. Thirteen wishes were fulfilled in the first year. Now, 36-years later, more than 19,000 wishes have been completed. At any given time, there are between 300 and 450 wishes pending. They are the first chapter in the world to fulfill more than 700 wishes in one year.

Annual Memorial Coat Drive for Adam Morris

There is an annual coat drive in memory or Adam Morris, a young man who unexpectedly passed away in a car accident.  His family is keeping his memory alive by collecting coats, hats, and scarves for children in his honor.

We feel honored to be able to participate in these charities, and we urge you to click on the links and donate if you feel moved to do so.  They are wonderful charities and would benefit from anything you could give.

We will continue to give to our Elevation Cares charities and are excited to see what next year brings.

The Skin-ny on Dry Skin

Spring can be a great time to restore your dry winter skin.  Your skin is the largest organ of the body but it is made up of many tiny cells that consist mostly of water.  During the winter, when the air is dry and salt is on the roads, the water is depleted from our skin cells which cause our skin to be dry, tight, itchy and flakey, which can sometimes lead to wrinkles down the road.

Every minute, we shed about 30-40 thousand dead cells off the surface of our skin, more if your skin is especially dry.  In just the time it took you to read this, you’ve shed about 20,000 skin cells.  So what can we do to help?  Drink water, and lots of it!

Do you wonder why it seems like drinking water is at the root of every diet, workout and skin regime? That’s because it works! Your organs need it to function. For the most part, the more water you drink, the easier it will be to keep your skin healthy, retain elasticity, and help fight signs of aging, not to mention it is great for your weight loss plan!

In the winter, we tend to put on heavy creams and ointments to help fight off the damages caused by the winter wind. Spring, however, means lighter lotions, specifically those with some SPF.   Keep an eye out for products that double as moisturizers and UV barriers to protect the skin.  Sunflower oil and Vitamin E work as emollients that trap moisturizers inside the skin cells and keep them hydrated.  Alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy also help replenish dry skin.  Glycolic Acid is also great to remove dead skin cells that can leave you with glowing skin.

Following these tips are a sure way to get healthy and replenished skin!
