Maddie O., Morgantown Medical Assistant

Originally from Austin, Texas, Maddie and her family moved to the beautiful state of West Virginia in 2011. This was a huge change of scenery and a huge culture shock, of course, but she knew she would succeed. Maddie continued to learn, grow, and develop a love for the thrill of sports and competition. Maddie participated in many activities such as cross country, volleyball, and softball, where she learned how to be a leader and a team player. After what seemed to be cut very short, because of Covid, she eventually graduated from North Marion High School in May 2020.

During the lockdown, discovering her true self proved to be a challenge, but Maddie prevailed and started working as a Behavioral Health Tech at Highland-Clarksburg Hospital in 2021 where she learned quickly she belonged in a patient-care setting. Maddie has always been interested in the medical field and studied Medical Assisting at West Virginia Junior College in 2021. Maddie has currently been working as a medical assistant at Elevation since June 2023, which has allowed her to combine her interest in the medical field and her passion for helping and serving others. Seeing how pleased patients are with their progress is rewarding. Maddie aspires to go back and further her education and become a Registered Nurse.

While Maddie is away from work, you can usually find her shredding on her snowboard with her boyfriend, Michael. She is still a beginner, but it’s quickly becoming her passion. With playing sports her entire life, it is hard to find fun things to do since high school ended, but snowboarding and kayaking keep her busy! Almost every weekend, you can find Maddie and Michael camping in Elkins, WV.  Maddie loves kayaking, camping, fishing, and just sitting by the fire with friends. Maddie has found a newfound love for the outdoors and it continues to grow as she finds it very relaxing and serene amid this busy world.
